AspectWelding Apprenticeship ProgramWelding Technician
CredentialsOn-the-job training, possibly some certificationsCertifications often required, such as AWS Certified Welder
Work EnvironmentOn-site, hands-on training with supervisionIndustrial, construction, manufacturing settings
PurposeTo train and develop skills for entry-level weldersTo perform welding tasks independently and maintain skills

What is a Welding Apprenticeship Program?

A Welding Apprenticeship Program is a structured training program that combines on-the-job learning with classroom instruction to prepare individuals for a career as a welder. Apprentices work under the supervision of experienced welders, gaining hands-on experience while also studying welding theory, safety practices, and technical skills.
