The Precision Meso-scale Technology Center (PMTC) is located on Keysight's campus in Santa Rosa, CA. PMTC provides mechanical solutions that enable the capabilities of Keysight's leading electronic measurement equipment. As a Machinist Apprentice, you will develop and sustain machining processes utilizing cutting edge machine tools such as Swiss Style Lathes, 3 to 5 axis Milling centers and multi-axis Mill/Turn machines. Working closely with Journeyman Machinists, you will learn all the skills needed to become a certified Journeyman Machinist in the State of California. This position is a Four-year Apprenticeship to complete the CTMAA program to become a Certified Journeyman Machinist. Keysight Technologies will cover the cost of tuition and any required textbooks for the classes.
Responsibilities
Machinist Apprenticeship Requirements:
The Machinist Apprentice is required to meet all CTMAA standards set by the CTMAA Committee. The Apprentice will report to a Machining Supervisor.
Candidates must be registered at Santa Rosa Junior College and stay enrolled to maintain Apprenticeship employment at Keysight.
Responsibilities include:
  • Maintaining a training schedule via online worksheet to track training progress and development requirements. The mentor and supervisor will sign off the completed tasks on the training worksheet. The Sign off indicates that the Intern can demonstrate he or she can perform the tasks/functions they have been trained on.
  • Meeting with the Intern Supervisor on a monthly basis to review the online training worksheet and discuss any development or training concerns.

Qualifications:
Keysight is looking for a highly motivated individual with the desire to learn advanced machining skills. This is a PMTC entry level position for Machinist. The ideal candidate has a knack for precision and detail, willingness to learn, and works well as a team member. A positive/can do attitude, dedication and flexibility are a must. Candidates selected for this position will have the opportunity to operate precision machining equipment and rotate through several areas of the Machinist trade such as: Milling, Turning, Maintenance, Deburr, Tool Grinding, and Metrology.
