Job Title: Production WelderJob Description

This role offers an opportunity to work as a full-time production welder in a busy machine shop, focusing on high-volume, repetitive welds on mild steel sub-assemblies and assemblies. You will use fixtures and guides to perform consistent MIG and TIG welds, interpret shop drawings and weld symbols, and support the fabrication process in a collaborative, tight-knit welding team.

Responsibilities
  • Operate as a full-time production welder in an industrial machine shop environment.
  • Perform high-volume, repetitive welding on sub-assemblies and assemblies using fixtures and guides.
  • Weld 3/8" to 5/8" mild steel to produce consistent, commercial-grade welds.
  • Use MIG and TIG welding techniques to complete assigned work to quality standards.
  • Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and weld symbols to understand job requirements.
  • Utilize shop fabrication tools such as band saws, drill presses, grinding tools, and hand tools safely and effectively.
  • Handle and move materials, including lifting up to 50 lbs. occasionally, to support welding and fabrication tasks.
  • Stand for extended periods while performing welding and related duties throughout the shift.
  • Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors about work status, issues, and production needs.
  • Maintain an organized work area and operate safely within a greasy, dirty, industrial shop environment.
Essential Skills

Work Environment

The role follows a daytime schedule, typically Monday through Friday, with shifts running from either 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The environment involves regular use of welding and fabrication equipment, including MIG and TIG welding machines, band saws, drill presses, grinding tools, and various hand and layout tools, in a setting that requires comfort with industrial conditions and appropriate work attire suitable for a dirty shop.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Petaluma, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
