Machinist is responsible for making parts ready for welding and fabrication. General machine repair of tooling and or fixtures. May also assist in trouble shooting of equipment issues that could be mechanical or electrical in nature.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Plan and select best method of machining to achieve desired tolerance, speed and finish
  • Perform calculation to form the work piece, calculate speed and feed
  • Select tools and materials for the job, plan the sequence of cutting and finishing operations, and mark the work piece to show where cuts should be made
  • Perform the necessary machining operations on various equipment such as a mill, lathe, drill press and or cutting equipment
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues
  • Perform general maintenance
  • Ability to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned
  • Use Forklift/Tow Motor to move shipments and material, load and unload stock trucks and machines, and/or change gas tanks.

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to understand and follow English instructions
  • Ability to read and understand all measuring devices
  • Strong math skills required
  • Ability to operate a lift truck
