Job description

POSITION SUMMARY
Canadian Plains is looking for apprentice welders with relevant experience in pipe fabrication, structural steel welding and rigging/hoisting. Our Welders take pride in their trade and see that Canadian Plainโ€™s high standards of safety and quality are always met.
POSITION amp; PROJECT DETAILS
  • Based out of our Lloydminster shop
  • Participate in CPES safety program.
  • Cut and prep pipe
  • Help with fit up
  • Welding on structural steel with appropriate tickets
  • Working toward a pressure ticket
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Performs any combination of following duties to assist welders with fitting and welding activities
  • Gather pipe and fittings for welders and fitters for carbon and stainless fabrication
  • Clean and prep pipe and fittings for fitting and welding
  • Rig and hoist completed pipe spools for loading
  • Record and track heat numbers on pipe and fittings for Quality Control
  • Cut and prep pipe for fitting
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Registered with the appropriate apprenticeship board as a Welding Apprentice
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol test
  • WHIMIS CSTS, Fall Protection an asset
  • Strike orientation provided
