Conrad Yelvington Distributors, a CRH company, supplies and distributes aggregate materials such as granite, river gravel, limestone, natural sand, and more. This rail served aggregate distribution network covers Florida, Southern Mississippi, South Carolina, and Alabama.

The maintenance helper will ensure Health & Safety standards are met by complying with legislation, company policies and promoting a safe work environmentand be responsible for assisting with maintenance and repair of railcars as well as other miscellaneous work that needs to be performed.  Assists welder with preparing cars for neccessary maintenance and repair and with performance of maintenance and repair.


The maintenance helper will be responsible for the completion of the necessary paperwork that is required as well as communicating any maintenance that needs to be completed to management. This person will also be expected to follow all safety regulations set forth by the company. Maintenance helper will also be responsible for maintaining a clean work environment. This includes all equipment as well as the facility.
The Maintenance Helper will be responsible for keeping and turning in the required paperwork for Maintenance needs, Parts and Service Work orders and Invoices, Safety Documentation.
In addition, the Helper may be asked to perform a wide range of duties and being willing to help wherever needed. Must be able to lift 50 pounds alone and stand a good part of the day. The Maintenance Helper will be working in a covered shop, in dust and noisy areas. Substantial walking, bending, stooping, lifting or working in awkward or strained positions. Some hazards involved due to working in and around machinery. The mechanic will be asked to work overtime as well as some weekends as business needs determine.


Qualifications:


High School diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Minimum of 1 year in the maintenance field.
Familiarity with MSHA regulations (preferred).
Experience in welding, acetylene cutting, fabrication and plumbing (preferred).

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
