Job Description

Join our team as a Welder Helper, assisting in the production of custom-engineered electrical gear for the energy, industrial, and critical infrastructure sectors. You will be a vital part of the weld shop, working alongside skilled welders to ensure high-quality outputs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist welders in preparing materials for welding, which includes grinding, sanding, deburring, and sandblasting.
  • Perform tack welding to support fitters as needed.
  • Move materials and perform general labor tasks such as cleaning the shop.
  • Engage in various odd jobs to support the efficient operation of the weld shop.

  • At least 2 years of experience as a welder helper.
  • Proficiency in grinding, sanding, and deburring.

Work Environment

Work in a medium-sized, clean, and organized shop. The environment is non-climate controlled with open bay doors and plenty of fans to ensure ventilation. The facility operates on a fast-paced production schedule. Steel-toed boots, jeans, a work shirt, and safety glasses are required. Night shifts run from Monday to Friday, 6:00 pm to 6:00 am, while day shifts are Monday to Friday, 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. It is common to work 50-60 hours per week.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
