Job description

Reports to: General Manager/Assistant General Manager/Project manager /Project Lead

The Welder is responsible for the assembly and fabrication of all dock structures and components. This position requires the team member to work 5 days per week and 8 hours per day. Seasonal schedule changes may take place at management discretion.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Read and understand blueprints prior to starting a project
  2. Source the materials to be used in the project
  3. Measure and cut materials to specifications
  4. Weld materials using the correct weld procedures to join the metals together
  5. Check finished work to ensure it falls within the tolerances marked on the blueprints
  6. Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area
  7. Notifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered
  8. Must be able to lift, carry, and push up to 75 lbs
  9. Perform other duties as assigned or apparent
  10. Need to be comfortable with working at elevated heights

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Act with the highest level of integrity and maintain a positive attitude
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 2+ years of welding experience with steels
  • Thorough understanding machines and tools used in welding
  • MIG welding and shop fabrication experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to read weld symbols and follow blueprints
  • Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms
  • Basic understanding of mathematics as related to welding assignments
  • Manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work
  • Must be friendly to all customers and team members
  • Strong passion for providing excellent hospitality and customer service
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of all marina operations to be able to assist at all times
  • Adaptable to work composed of a variety of different tasks
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at a time despite interruptions
