Job description

Xtreme Services is seeking a Welder / Fabricator Apprentice to join our growing industrial and commercial construction team. We are looking for an experienced craft professional who takes pride in safe, accurate work and can contribute to both shop and field settings as project needs require.

Position Details

Employment Type: Full-time

Location: Goodrich, Michigan, with travel to customer and project sites as assigned.

Schedule: Varies by project; overtime, weekends, shutdown work, and out-of-town travel may be required.

Compensation: $20+/Hour Based on experience, credentials, and demonstrated capability.

Benefits: Blue Cross Blue Shield medical, dental, vision coverage with select plans being covered 100% by Xtreme; Paid time off and holiday pay; and other benefits to be reviewed during interview process.

What You'll Do

·    Read fabrication drawings, weld symbols, bills of material, cut lists, and field dimensions.

·    Lay out, cut, bevel, drill, cope, fit, tack, weld, straighten, grind, and finish carbon steel and other approved materials.

·    Perform authorized welding processes such as SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, and GTAW in required positions.

·    Set up and safely operate welding machines, torches, saws, grinders, drills, ironworkers, positioners, and material-handling equipment.

·    Verify fit-up, joint preparation, alignment, squareness, dimensions, weld size, profile, and visual quality.

·    Control distortion and heat input through proper sequencing, fixturing, and technique.

What We're Looking For

·    One or more years of structural or industrial welding/fabrication experience preferred, or equivalent demonstrated proficiency.

·    Must have valid driver's license.

·    Ability to pass Xtreme Services' hands-on weld/fabrication interview evaluation and project-specific qualification tests.

·    Ability to interpret weld symbols, fabrication drawings, measurements, tolerances, and basic welding procedure requirements.

·    AWS certifications are preferred; current credentials do not replace company or project qualification testing.

·    Dependable attendance, professional communication, and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

·    Commitment to safety, quality, teamwork, and protecting customer and company property.
