Job Description
Are you an experienced Fitter/Welder who takes pride in producing high-quality structural steel fabrications? We are seeking a skilled professional to fit, weld, and fabricate structural steel components while working from fabrication drawings and AWS standards. This role offers the opportunity to work on unique projects in a modern manufacturing environment where quality, teamwork, and craftsmanship are valued.
Responsibilities
  • Set up, fit, and finish weld structural steel fabrications according to AWS D1.1 standards and fabrication drawings
  • Read and interpret weld symbols, blueprints, bills of material, and fabrication drawings
  • Operate fabrication equipment including saws, drill presses, grinders, forklifts, and overhead cranes
  • Inspect completed work using measuring and inspection tools to ensure quality standards are met
  • Design and build fixtures and jigs used during fabrication processes
  • Collaborate with Quality Control and production teams to resolve welding and fabrication issues
  • Assist with training and mentoring less experienced welders as needed
  • Support production goals and assist with additional shop duties as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements
  • AWS D1.1 welding qualification preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of fitting and welding experience in a structural steel or fabrication environment
  • Must be able to pass client’s welding test
  • Ability to read and interpret weld symbols, fabrication drawings, and bills of material
  • Experience operating fabrication and material handling equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency and accountability
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a manufacturing environment
