Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Welding Manager to lead a team of approximately 8–10 welders in a stainless-steel pipe fabrication environment. This individual will oversee daily shop-floor operations, ensure weld quality and safety compliance, coordinate workflow, and provide hands-on technical guidance to the welding team.

The ideal candidate will have an active Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification and be prepared to step into the leadership role with minimal onboarding.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise, support, and develop a team of 8–10 welders.
  • Coordinate daily schedules, manpower, and workflow to meet production goals.
  • Monitor weld quality, shop performance, and compliance with safety procedures.
  • Inspect approximately 15% of completed welds according to customer specifications.
  • Enforce applicable welding, inspection, quality, and safety standards.
  • Provide technical guidance regarding welding equipment, fabrication methods, and shop processes.
  • Help reduce rework and ensure production remains on schedule.
  • Collaborate with operations leadership to address staffing and production needs.
  • Support employee training, development, retention, and overall team effectiveness.
  • Oversee grinding and finishing work as required.
Required Qualifications
  • Active Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
  • Previous experience supervising or leading a team of welders.
  • Strong knowledge of welding processes, fabrication, and shop-floor operations.
