Job description

Every day. The expectation for senior leaders is to model The Germantown Way at all times for those they influence and interact with daily. Description Under supervision, monitor the weight room area, ensuring cleanliness and maintenance of equipment.

Orient members on the various cardiovascular and weight training equipment, and provide basic level assessments. Provide excellent customer service by responding to member's questions and concerns, being open and approachable to all patrons. Schedule: Flexible hours, shifts are generally 4-5 hours in length.

Shift times may vary but are generally 4:45AM-9:00 AM, 9:00 AM-1:00 PM, 1:00 PM-5:00 PM and 5:00 PM -Closing on weekdays; 6:45AM-12:00 PM, 12:00 PM-4:00 PM and 4:00 PM - 9:00 PM on Saturday and 9:45AM-2:00 PM and 2:00 PM-6:00 PM on Sunday. Early morning, morning and early afternoon availability required in the fall. Examples of Duties Greet and interact with members who come into the weight room area Conduct fitness equipment orientations and assist members in the proper usage of equipment Monitor and oversee weight room at all times to ensure safety and welfare of patrons Enforce the rules and regulations of the facility Clean and disinfect all equipment and perform minor repairs/adjustments as needed Routinely inspect equipment and report safety or maintenance concerns Keep fitness area neat and uncluttered; re-rack weights as needed Ensure disinfectant wipe dispensers are refilled.

Qualifications Knowledge of various types of weight and cardiovascular equipment Ability to enforce club rules and regulations firmly and tactfully Ability to interact and communicate with the public and other employees in a courteous and professional manner Ability to develop and maintain on-going relationships with club members Ability to work flexible hours Physical ability to operate weight equipment and machines while instructing patrons in their proper use Physical ability to lift and move equipment to perform routine cleaning Requirements Should be at least 16 years of age. Some work experience providing a basic knowledge of fitness equipment and machines and/or some college hours working toward a degree in Sports Science, or industry certifications (NSCA/ACSM, etc) strongly preferred. Requires CPR/AED Certification or ability to obtain.
