Job description

If you have experience with land data and enjoy untangling complex problems, this is an opportunity to take your expertise in a new direction!

As a Technical Analyst on our Project Services team, you will use your land knowledge in a new way by helping clients make sense of complex data and move it successfully into Pandell-ESG software.

You will work directly with clients to understand their data, business processes, and system needs. You will use SQL to analyze and validate data, investigate issues, and support accurate data conversions. From developing conversion rules and preparing source-to-target mapping documentation to supporting testing and quality assurance, you will play an important role throughout the implementation process. You will also collaborate with project managers, developers, data conversion specialists, and other team members to work through challenges and find practical solutions.

This is a hands-on role that offers variety, ownership, and the opportunity to see the results of your work. You will contribute to multiple client projects, continue building your technical expertise, and play an important part in helping clients feel confident in their new system.

Position Responsibilities
  • Work directly with clients to understand their land data, business processes, and system requirements.
  • Analyze complex datasets and develop clear, standardized conversion rules.
  • Create source-to-target mapping documentation showing how client data will move from legacy systems into Pandell ESG software.
  • Prepare clear and accurate documentation for clients, data conversion specialists, and other project stakeholders.
  • Support data validation, testing, and quality assurance throughout the conversion and implementation process.
  • Investigate data issues, identify their root causes, and work with project team members to find practical solutions.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to clients during and after implementation.
  • Collaborate with project managers, developers, quality assurance analysts, data conversion specialists, and other team members.
  • Manage assigned work across multiple client projects while meeting timelines and quality expectations.
  • Continue building your knowledge of land terminology, industry practices, data conversion processes, and Pandell ESG software.
  • Recommend improvements to internal processes, tools, and documentation based on your project experience.
  • Provide training and share technical or industry knowledge with clients and team members when needed.

This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but may include providing training, sharing knowledge, and offering guidance to clients and team members.

Requirements

First and foremost, you embody ESG's EPIC Values:

  • Excellence: You deliver your best, every time.
  • Passion: You show how much you care each day.
  • Integrity: You do the right thing, even when no one is looking.
  • Collaboration: You work with others to succeed together.

Along with these values, you'll bring:

  • Land management or land administration experience (5+ years preferred)
  • Practical knowledge of land records and agreements, such as leases, contracts, obligations, mineral interests, surface interests, or ownership information.
  • Strong SQL skills for data mapping, validation, and quality assurance.
  • Experience working with databases, data conversions, and project lifecycles.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word, along with collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to spot details others may miss.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills in a fast-paced project environment.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate across cross-functional teams, including analysts, developers, quality assurance analysts, and data specialists.
  • Familiarity with source-to-target mapping and data quality assurance processes.
  • A proactive, self-directed approach. You take initiative and make things happen
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working directly with land management software or enterprise land systems.
  • Exposure to SaaS product implementations.
  • Knowledge of the energy industry, including oil and gas, renewables, or related land operations.
  • Project management training or certification, such as PMP.
  • An associate or bachelor's degree in land administration, business, information systems, data management, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered.
