What are 'Weekends' in the context of work schedules?

In the context of work schedules, 'weekends' typically refer to the days at the end of the week, usually Saturday and Sunday, when most businesses and organizations are closed or have reduced hours. Many employees have weekends off as part of a standard Monday-to-Friday workweek, though some industries require weekend shifts. What are some common challenges of working weekend shifts, and how can employees effectively manage work-life balance in such roles?

Working weekend shifts often means adjusting to a non-traditional schedule, which can impact family time, social activities, and personal routines. Employees may face challenges such as limited access to certain support services and the need to coordinate with teams who work standard weekday hours. To manage work-life balance, it's important to establish clear boundaries, communicate availability with loved ones, and make the most of time off during the week. Employers may also support weekend staff by offering flexible scheduling, wellness resources, and regular check-ins to address unique needs.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Weekends, and why are they important?
