Description
As the Receiving Specialist, you are responsible for receiving and allocating inbound deliveries, ensuring proper labeling and restocking of products, and verifying deliveries for damages. This role supports multiple production buildings, requiring movement between facilities to receive, distribute, and organize materials. You will coordinate with Operations and Purchasing departments to maintain a smooth flow of materials across all locations and assist with various production tasks as needed.

What you'll do
  • Receive and allocate inbound deliveries across multiple buildings, ensuring materials are delivered to the correct location and team
  • Travel between nearby production buildings to support receiving, material distribution, and organization needs
  • Label products as required, restock items as needed, and manage Kanban inventory and ordering processes to ensure adequate supplies are available
  • Verify all deliveries, inspect products for damage, and report discrepancies to the purchasing department
  • Conduct regular material inventories, investigate variances, and report findings
  • Handle products returning to vendors, including packaging and documentation
  • Maintain organization of all receiving paperwork including material certifications and packing slips
  • Contribute to the organization and upkeep of storage areas including warehouse space, racks, outdoor areas, kitchen areas, and safety kits
  • Operate a forklift to move and store materials as needed
  • Organize and move recyclable materials to appropriate bins
  • Assist with production tasks as directed by the Director of Operations/Production Supervisor
  • Communicate and collaborate with multiple departments across buildings to support production needs

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • 1+ year of experience in a warehouse, receiving, inventory, or manufacturing environment
  • Basic understanding of inventory processes including receiving, returns, stock rotation, and material verification
  • Forklift experience
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks across multiple locations
  • Ability to work independently and identify additional work without direct supervision
  • Ability to use basic hand tools and measuring devices
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment

Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of receiving or inventory control experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
  • Experience with Kanban systems or other inventory replenishment processes
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, inventory tracking software, or warehouse management systems
  • Experience handling material certifications, packing slips, and vendor return documentation
  • Experience conducting cycle counts and investigating inventory variances
  • Knowledge of basic material types such as sheet metal, hardware, consumables, etc.

Essential Physical Requirements
  • Ability to repeatedly lift 25 lbs and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand and walk for 10 to 12 hour shifts
  • Ability to bend, reach, and work around large industrial equipment
  • Ability to move between multiple nearby buildings throughout the shift

  • Manufacturing and production floor environment across multiple buildings
  • Exposure to noise, moving machinery, and metal materials
  • Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
