Job DescriptionPosition Objective: We are seeking a certified and enthusiastic
part-time Pilates Reformer Instructor to lead small group Reformer classes and/or personal Pilates sessions in a safe, professional, and engaging manner. This position requires an individual who is dependable, responsible, and comfortable working with the public. Ideal candidates will have flexibility in their schedule, with some availability for
evening and weekend hours. Pilates Instructors work under the direction of the Fitness Manager and are expected to contribute to a welcoming, inclusive environment that supports participant growth and wellness goals.
Duties/ResponsibilitiesEssential Job Functions- Lead safe, effective, and engaging Pilates Reformer classes and/or private sessions, modifying for a variety of fitness levels, goals, and physical conditions.
- Provide clear instruction on Pilates principles, equipment setup, and proper alignment, offering corrections as needed to ensure safety and effectiveness.
- Create customized programming that supports individual client needs and promotes ongoing progress.
- Maintain a clean, organized studio environment and ensure proper care and storage of equipment.
- Foster a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere and communicate professionally with clients, staff, and management regarding scheduling, feedback, and shared use of space.
- Stay current with industry standards, maintain relevant certifications (including CPR/First Aid), and support team efforts related to programming, events, and sub coverage.
Other Job Functions:- Communicates member concerns, complaints, or issues to the Marsh Manager on a regular basis.
- Performs other duties and assumes additional responsibilities as assigned or as apparent.
- Assists as a substitute instructor for other fitness classes, as appropriate based on experience and expertise.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:- Current Pilates Reformer Certification required. Certification must be from a nationally accredited organization (i.e.-Balanced Body, STOTT, NETA etc.).
- CPR Certification (ARC or AHA).
- A commitment to and belief in the organizations shared values.
- Strong customer service background. Ability to handle customer concerns and assist with customer needs.
Desired Qualifications:- Previous experience teaching fitness classes is preferred.
- First Aid Certification.
Additional InformationKnowledge of:
- Safe and effective teaching practices and use of all equipment.
- Basis knowledge of anatomy, exercise physiology, kinesiology and injury prevention.
- Instructor must possess a basic knowledge and awareness of health and wellness.
Skilled in:
- Effectively dealing with large numbers of participants.
Ability to:
- Instruct others in the use of a variety of health fitness and athletic equipment.
- Learn the Marsh policies, programs, and practices.
