Job description

Description
Working with clients/management to ensure the setting up and tearing-down of events and maintaining and cleaning the building and grounds. Working scheduled events and providing customer service for them.
Duties and Responsibilities
Supervision Received
The immediate supervisors for this position are the Event Production Supervisor, Senior Event Coordinator and Event Manager.
Primary Duties:
  • Setting up and breaking down rooms for scheduled events (tables, chairs, linens, dance floor, staging, Audio Visual equipment)
  • Setting up, maintaining and troubleshooting AV systems for scheduled events
  • Cleaning interior and exterior of facility before and after scheduled events (vacuuming carpets, sanitizing restrooms and catering kitchen, sweeping and mopping floors, dusting furniture)
  • Removing trash before, during and after scheduled events

Secondary Duties:
  • Assisting Event Staff with beverage service set up and break down
  • Communicating with clients during scheduled events
  • Working scheduled events as needed

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge:
Proper grammar and proper use of English in speaking and writing
Mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, division and multiplication
Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to work nights and weekends
  • Ability to follow floorplans/facility diagrams

Valid Mississippi Driver License
Tools and Equipment Used
Indoors tools and equipment consists of push mops, brooms, dusters and sweepers. Outdoors equipment consists of seeders, weed eaters, mowers, trimmers, etc.
Physical Demands
Physical work involved with this position includes, but is not limited to, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting and bending.
Work Environment
85% of work is indoors in climate-controlled environment. 15% of work may be outdoors in temperatures ranging from 45 degrees F to 100 degrees F.
