Job description

JOB SUMMARY: Inventory Control offers comprehensive insights to various departments regarding aligning our product counts with the perpetual inventory in our systems. It ensures timely and transparent communication of any discrepancies. This role also plays an integral part in accountability of system processes, working with team members to understand how to perform their duties. Working independently and collaboratively with team members is essential for success in this position.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Utilize HighJump to manage and control inventory, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established procedures.
  • Perform regular audits and reconcile discrepancies between physical inventory and system records.
  • Participate in receiving activities to ensure accurate and compliant information is being entered into the HighJump WMS.
  • Coordinate the efficient and most effective utilization of warehouse product locations for picking and storage.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide real-time updates on inventory levels and support decision-making processes.
  • Generate and analyze reports from HighJump to assess inventory status, identify trends, and propose improvement strategies.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies or issues in the inventory system promptly.
  • Implement and enforce inventory control policies to optimize efficiency and accuracy.
  • Well versed in Material Handling Equipment and general warehouse operations in a food distribution environment.
  • Work closely with the purchasing and logistics teams to communicate inventory changes and issues and be a part of the team that ensures timely replenishment occurs to keep the company in a good in-stock position.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory checks to ensure data integrity.
  • Train and assist team members in utilizing HighJump effectively for their specific roles
  • Responsible for all high level inventory reporting to key stakeholders within the company


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven experience as an inventory control clerk or similar role
  • In depth experience with using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • Strong knowledge of RF applications and printing applications in warehousing
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Effective in working under pressure and time management skills
  • Experience in food distribution, preferably in multi-temperature environments with high amount of perishable goods.

  • Problem Solving: Analytical mindset to identify and resolve operational challenges promptly,
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff, vendors, and customers.
  • Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory software and basic PC application

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the warehouse for extended periods of time.
  • Comfortable working in a multi-temperature environment (ambient, refrigerated, and frozen).
  • Ability to operate safely various material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks
  • Work performed in a warehouse setting with occasional exposure to inclement weather conditions and varying levels of noise
  • Typing and viewing of a computer screen as needed. Weekend work as needed.
