Job description

Scanner/Runner-Law Firm Operations Support

This is a full-time position with a pay range starting at $16 - $17/hour.

  • 8-hour shift (8:30 am – 5:00 pm)
  • Day shift

Responsibilities:

What You’ll Do

As our Runner/Scanner, you’ll be responsible for ensuring legal documents are properly processed, organized, and delivered—both digitally and physically. Your work directly supports attorneys, staff, and clients by keeping cases moving efficiently.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Scanning, uploading, and accurately indexing legal documents into our document management system
  • Processing the firm’s daily mail according to firm procedures
  • Making daily runs to the post office, bank, clerk’s office, and other locations as needed
  • Delivering and retrieving documents between offices, courts, and external locations
  • Ensuring scanned documents are clear, complete, and properly labeled
  • Organizing and maintaining physical and electronic case files
  • Assisting with copying, document preparation, and basic clerical tasks
  • Tracking and confirming receipt of delivered materials
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality of all client and firm information
  • Providing general administrative support to attorneys and staff as requested

What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior office, clerical, or law firm experience is a plus, but not required
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and firm protocols accurately
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
  • Comfortable using computers, scanners, and document management systems
  • Professional, dependable, and punctual
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the office and to external locations during the workday

Work Environment

  • Professional law office setting
  • Regular interaction with attorneys, staff, and clients
