Due to continued growth, we are looking to add an experienced and dependable Low Voltage/Fire Alarm Technician to our West Springfield, MA team. In this role, you will install, program, maintain, and repair fire alarm and low voltage systems across residential and commercial settings, ensuring full compliance with local, state, and federal codes. Success in this role requires strong technical knowledge of fire alarm and low voltage systems, sharp troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and a customer-focused approach to every site visit.
Key Responsibilities:
Fire Alarm
  • Install, maintain, and repair fire alarm systems across residential and commercial environments.
  • Conduct regular inspections and tests of fire alarm systems to verify proper operation.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues with alarm systems and implement effective resolutions.
  • Ensure compliance with local and national fire codes and safety regulations.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed service reports for each job.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to address their needs and concerns.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete project requirements.

Low Voltage
  • Install and terminate low voltage wiring, including structured cabling, access control, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Pull, route, and label low voltage cable in accordance with project drawings and applicable codes.
  • Perform testing and troubleshooting of low voltage systems to ensure proper functionality and code compliance.
  • Assist with the installation and configuration of security cameras, intercoms, and other low voltage electronic systems as needed.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification in fire alarm systems or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in fire alarm system installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Experience with low voltage systems including structured cabling, access control, or security systems is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal fire codes and regulations.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Familiarity with fire alarm system components and installation techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in various weather conditions.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:
  • Field-based role requiring regular travel to residential and commercial job sites throughout the service area.
