Job description

Madden Industrial Craftsmen is currently seeking welders for a long-term opportunity with a trailer manufacturer located in NE Portland. If you have at least 2 years of relevant experience and are TIG qualified up to 3/8 inch thick aluminum welding or MIG welding, we encourage you to apply.

Wage: $25.00-$27.00 DOE

Schedule: Monday – Thursday

Hours: 6:00am-4:30pm

Welder Responsibilities:

  • Perform Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) and MIG welding operations on various materials, with a primary focus on aluminum welding.

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding specifications to ensure accurate execution of welding tasks.

  • Prepare workpieces for welding by cleaning, grinding, and fitting components as necessary.

  • Set up welding equipment and select appropriate welding techniques to achieve high-quality welds.

  • Maintain welding equipment and perform routine inspections to ensure proper functioning.

  • Inspect finished welds to verify compliance with quality standards and specifications.

  • Perform visual and die penetrant tests to ensure the integrity of welds.

  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet project deadlines and production targets.

Welder Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in TIG or MIG welding, with a focus on aluminum welding.

  • TIG Qualified up to ½ inch thick aluminum welding preferred.

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and welding specifications.

  • Capability to pass visual and die penetrant tests to ensure weld quality.

  • Familiarity with welding equipment setup and maintenance.

  • Union membership or willingness to join the union (if applicable).
