Event Supervisor / Banquet Captain – Events & Club Dining

The Legends Country Club | Eureka, MO

Job Summary

The Legends Country Club is seeking an experienced and professional Banquet Captain to help lead banquet and event service for weddings, tournaments, private events, and club functions.

The Banquet Captain works closely with the Director of Food & Beverage and service team to ensure every event runs smoothly while delivering exceptional hospitality to members and guests. This role supervises banquet staff during functions, assists with event setup and breakdown, and ensures club service standards are consistently met.

The ideal candidate is organized, service-focused, and capable of leading banquet service teams during busy events while maintaining an exceptional guest experience.

Primary ResponsibilitiesEvent & Banquet Service Leadership

• Supervise banquet service staff during events when management is not present

• Assist the Director of Food & Beverage during larger functions

• Ensure members and guests receive prompt, professional service

• Coordinate timing of food and beverage service with the kitchen and event schedule

• Maintain high standards of hospitality and professionalism during events

Event Setup & Breakdown

• Perform banquet room setup including tables, linens, chairs, and service stations

• Ensure banquet areas are clean, organized, and ready prior to guest arrival

• Perform closing duties including removing linens, clearing glassware, dishes, and silverware

• Reset banquet rooms for upcoming events or club operations

• Ensure banquet rooms and service areas are properly secured after events

Staff Supervision & Training

• Assist with training and guiding banquet staff

• Ensure all banquet staff are properly uniformed and presentable

• Attend or assist with pre-event meetings with banquet staff

• Maintain team organization and service efficiency during events

Guest Service & Operational Knowledge

• Maintain knowledge of banquet menus, wines, and service procedures

• Respond to guest requests and special service needs during events

• Ensure member satisfaction and service standards are consistently met

• Assist with a la carte service or bartending when banquet schedule is lighter

Sanitation & Safety

• Maintain cleanliness of banquet areas and service stations

• Ensure all sanitation and hygiene standards are followed

• Follow all club safety, food handling, and service policies

Work Environment

Banquet Captains work closely with kitchen staff, service teams, and club leadership to ensure every event runs smoothly and professionally.


Physical Requirements

• Stand and walk for up to 5 hours during events

• Bend, stoop, and climb when setting up banquet spaces

• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds

• Move up to 100 pounds using carts or hand dollies
