Job description

About Summit Wealth Group

Founded in 1985 and headquartered in Colorado Springs, Summit Wealth Group is an independent, fee-based wealth management firm with 11 branch offices across five states. Our Lakewood office has served the Denver Metro area since 2009 and is led by Senior Financial Advisor and VP Josh Jerele, CFP®, recently recognized on Forbes' Top Next-Gen Wealth Advisors list.

We take a planning-first approach to wealth management and believe great client relationships are built through trust, accountability, and thoughtful advice. Internally, we refer to our team as the "Summit Family," reflecting our commitment to supporting one another, taking ownership, and building long-term success for our clients and employees alike.

The Role

This role is built around relationships, not prospecting. You'll work directly with an established group of clients, lead review meetings, deliver financial planning recommendations, and serve as a trusted resource as clients navigate important financial decisions.

You’ll have the opportunity to deepen client relationships, support multi-generational planning, and help clients bring more of their financial lives under one roof. Working alongside an experienced team, you’ll take ownership of client relationships while helping deliver an exceptional planning and service experience.

Success in this role is measured by the quality of your client relationships, planning outcomes, service excellence, and contribution to the team.

For advisors looking to grow their careers, Summit offers a clear path to Lead Advisor, Senior Advisor, and future leadership opportunities. As your responsibilities and impact grow, you may become eligible for additional compensation opportunities, including revenue sharing, profit-sharing bonuses, and participation in the firm's Profit Interest Plan.

What You’ll Do Client Relationships
  • Lead and serve existing client households.
  • Conduct annual review meetings and present financial planning recommendations.
  • Identify planning opportunities related to retirement income, estate planning, cash flow management, asset consolidation, and multi-generational wealth planning.
  • Build relationships with clients, family members, and heirs to support long-term wealth transitions.
  • Serve as a trusted resource as clients navigate major financial and life decisions.
  • Analyze cash flow, tax situations, annuities, employer-sponsored retirement plans, and retirement income strategies.
  • Develop and implement personalized financial planning recommendations.
  • Construct portfolios, make asset allocation recommendations, oversee rebalancing strategies, and manage tax-loss harvesting opportunities.
  • Ensure all advisory work and documentation remain compliant with FINRA, SEC, and firm standards.
  • Maintain accurate client records and planning recommendations.
Operational Leadership
  • Work closely with advisors, compliance, and operations teams to deliver high-quality client experience.
  • Delegate and oversee administrative workflows as experience and tenure grow.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to support team members.
  • Take on increasing responsibility for client relationships, team development, and office operations as part of your career progression.

Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance client service.

What We’re Looking For
  • 3+ years of experience in wealth management, financial planning, investment operations, or a related field.
  • Active FINRA Series 65 license.
  • Life, Health, and Long-Term Care insurance licenses, or the ability to obtain them within 90 days.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Psychology, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization, and relationship management skills.
  • A self-directed professional who enjoys building long-term client relationships and delivering thoughtful financial guidance.
  • Base salary: $80,000-$95,000, commensurate with experience.
  • Eligible for discretionary quarterly production bonuses after six months of employment.
  • Eligible for discretionary profit-sharing bonuses based on firm performance after six months of employment.
  • Revenue-sharing opportunities as responsibilities, impact grow.
  • Eligible employees may receive Profit Interest Unit (PIU) grants, providing an opportunity to participate in long-term growth and success.
  • ICHRA medical benefit, plus dental, vision, and long-term disability coverage.
  • Safe Harbor 401(k) with a 4% employer match.
  • Generous PTO, Volunteer Time Off (VTO), and sick time.
  • Professional designation and continuing education support, including CFP® and other approved credentials.
  • Licensing and certification reimbursement for approved industry designations and exams.
  • Financial Wellbeing Benefit, including a personal financial plan and Encore Estate Plan.

We’re looking for a relationship-focused advisor who enjoys helping clients make confident financial decisions and wants to grow within a collaborative, planning-focused firm.
