Job description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Operate forklifts (sit down and standup), hand trucks and/ or other equipment to move freight Load and unload incoming and outgoing materials and products Move materials to and from loading docks, delivery trucks, storage areas, and manufacturing areas Identify and verify the accuracy of quantity and quality of incoming materials from Production, Vendors, and/ or returned goods deliveries Attention to detail is a must. Move materials to warehouse locations or staging and record their locations in the warehouse using handhelds to maintain accurate inventories Prepare finished products for shipment by identifying their location, then pulling, packing, and loading them Perform cycle counts Maintains a clean warehouse and working environment Ensures compliance with operating policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment and efficient operations; may require the employee to wear safety equipment or gear. Is familiar with the use of all safety equipment, when and how to use it. Must also participate and engage in all safety

RECOMMENDED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent 1-5 years of experience working in a warehouse setting or in logistics; experience in operating material handling equipment preferred Certification to operate forklift truck preferred Must be able to work well in a team Ability to read, write and to follow instructions, and work independently with little guidance Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time; ability to bend and to lift heavy materials Ability to operate handhelds, computers and relevant warehouse management and shipping computer software Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Travel is not required for this position. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is carried out in a Warehouse/ Production environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to dust, fumes, and noise with safety procedures in place for protection. The employee will be required to wear all appropriate safety equipment including, but not limited to, eye protection, ear protection, dust mask, gloves, steel-toed shoes, and a hard hat. This position works in an environment in which safety, environmental, and health concerns will demand constant attention. Strict adherence to safety policies is a requirement of employment.
