Job description

MUST HAVE TWIC CARD.We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to support cargo handling and daily operations at the Port of Alabama. The ideal candidate will have experience operating industrial forklifts in a fast-paced maritime, warehouse, or logistics environment. This position plays a critical role in the safe movement, loading, unloading, and storage of cargo throughout the port facility.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Safely operate forklifts to load, unload, move, stack, and transport cargo and materials.
  • Handle containers, pallets, equipment, and other freight in accordance with operational procedures.
  • Conduct pre-shift and post-shift equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of cargo movement and inventory transactions.
  • Assist with vessel loading and unloading operations as directed.
  • Follow cargo handling procedures and ensure materials are properly secured.
  • Support warehouse, dock, and yard operations as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Adhere to all port, OSHA, and company safety regulations.
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors, crane operators, truck drivers, and other port personnel.
