Job description

We are currently hiring a Warehouse Fork Lift Operator at our Building Materials location in East Dubuque, IL, where this position will be responsible for loading and unloading customers and vendors, while providing professional customer service.

This is a full-time, hourly position working Monday-Friday and Saturday’s during peak season.  Candidates must be dependable and available to work overtime as needed.

Candidates must have the ability to perform heavy lifting and rigorous physical activity.  Fork lift experience is preferred, but on the job training will be provided for an individual displaying ability and eagerness to learn.  In addition, an ideal candidate would have, or be willing to obtain, a CDL Class B, to assist with local deliveries as needed.

Major Warehouse Fork Lift Operator responsibilities include:

  • Operating forklift and performing all duties at the highest level of safety
  • Stocking, loading and organizing materials in warehouse as needed
  • Loading/Unloading supplier trucks
  • Receive and process products (pick, unload, label, store)
  • Loading customers in an efficient and timely manner
  • Treating customers in a friendly and professional manner
  • Perform inventory controls and keep high quality standards
  • Keep a clean, safe and inviting work environment and best utilize space

The ideal Warehouse Fork Lift Operator candidate will have:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • A focus on safety and a strong work ethic
  • Forklift experience
  • Strong verbal communication skills for optimal customer service
  • Must be self-motivated and conscientious with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
