Job description


POSITION SUMMARY
• We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Box Truck Driver to support transportation and delivery of materials, equipment, and products to internal and external customers. In this role, you will be responsible for operating a box truck to ensure timely, accurate, and secure deliveries while complying with all safety, DOT, and company requirements. This position plays a key role in maintaining operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Transportation & Delivery: Safely operate a box truck to deliver and pick up materials, equipment, and products according to scheduled routes and customer requirements.
• Loading & Unloading: Load and unload materials using appropriate material handling equipment while ensuring proper securement to prevent damage during transport.
• Shipping Verification: Verify shipments by checking quantities, part numbers, and delivery documentation to ensure accuracy.
• Customer Interaction: Maintain professional communication with customers and internal teams during deliveries and pickups.
• Vehicle Inspection & Maintenance: Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report vehicle issues, defects, or maintenance needs promptly.
• Documentation: Complete delivery logs, bills of lading, proof of delivery, and other required transportation documentation accurately and on time.
• Compliance: Adhere to DOT regulations, traffic laws, company policies, and safety procedures at all times.
• Safety & Housekeeping: Follow all safety guidelines, wear required PPE, and maintain a clean and organized vehicle and work area.
QUALIFICATIONS
• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (CDL not required for box truck operation)
• Previous box truck, delivery, or commercial driving experience preferred
• Ability to safely operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks or lift gates
• Basic computer or mobile device skills for logging deliveries and documentation
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
  • This position may require driving for extended periods, frequent entering and exiting the vehicle, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in warehouse, production, and outdoor environments.
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, traffic, and industrial environments.
  • Flexibility to work different shifts or overtime as needed.

TIME TRAVEL REQUIRED
  • Local travel required; overnight travel not expected
