Job description

General Summary:

To perform all warehouse functions including preparing shipments, unloading/loading trucks, driving, and assisting Operations Personnel. The regular schedule for this position is Sunday through Thursday from 4:30 pm to 12:00 am (Or when work is completed). However, the candidate must be open and flexible for day or night shift; Sunday through Saturday.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Work with Lead Warehouse person to ensure uninterruptible supply for our customers in a timely and safe manner.
  • Unload and load product in and out of intercompany, package, and bulk trucks for next business days orders (The evening shift employees priority will be preparing orders for the next day including loading and unloading trucks.)
  • Follow proper SOP for loading, unloading, and flushing trucks/trailers.
  • Pull and stage/load the next days orders using a handheld device to locate and pull products accurately.
  • Operate a vehicle on McPhersons site(s) in a manner compliant with company policy and procedure and compliant with DOT.
  • Perform drumming requirements and other repackaging products within company guidelines to meet customers needs, as necessary.
  • Participate in shift opening meetings and contribute ideas on ways to improve or optimize warehousing procedures.
  • Prepare, complete, and submit required paperwork by the end of each shift.
  • Communicate with all Operations Personnel, Dispatchers, Fleet Maintenance Manager, and assist them as required.
  • Operate stock management tools; for example, a forklift, pallet jacks, etc.
  • Perform cycle counts and keep inventory records as necessary.
  • Help maintain a clean and safe facility. Report any accidents, spills, or other problems to the manager immediately.
  • Ensure the facility is properly shut down, including locking all doors and gates at the end of the shift.
  • Complete other duties and projects as assigned by management.

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous warehouse experience (filling/packaging/picking).
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Previous experience operating warehouse equipment including forklifts (stand-up and sit-down), pallet jacks, cherry pickers, etc.
  • Knowledge of procedures to secure cargo in or on a commercial vehicle.
  • Ability to successfully complete the forklift certification test.

Working Environment:

The work of this position is performed in both inside and outside environments in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. The position requires the ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50lbs. Frequent bending, stooping, and climbing are also required. In this position, associates may be exposed to hazardous materials, vapors, fumes, and extreme weather conditions. Proper PPE is provided for employees working in these conditions.
