Weekend Dog Walker - Outward Bound Hounds

Hours: approximately 10 hours per month. This is a small, occasional role with limited hours. This is the perfect job for someone looking to make supplemental income. Please note this is, not a traditional part-time job with consistent weekly hours.

Outward Bound Hounds is a warm, tight-knit team that treats people and pets like family, with clear communication and support whenever you need it. Weekend walking pays a solid hourly rate for flexible, occasional work that fits around a weekday job or school schedule. Since OBH promotes from within, reliable walkers may have the opportunity to may have the opportunity into Shift Lead or coordinator roles over time - those come with more hours, but this posting is specifically for the light, weekend only coverage described above.

A note on evenings: we don't have a standing 8-10 PM shift. Evening help comes up occasionally, tied to overnight bookings, generally in the 5-9 PM window depending on the client -not a fixed nightly slot.

What a Weekend Looks Like You'll receive walk assignments through Time To Pet and head to client homes across Gaithersburg, Kentlands/Lakelands, Potomac, and surrounding areas - typically a handful of visits per day, not back-to-back appointments. Each visit means safely leashing and walking the dog, following care notes (feeding, meds, routes, quirks), watching for safety issues like weather or reactive behavior, and logging a quick visit update afterward. Between visits you'll drive to your next stop, so a reliable vehicle and some route-planning are part of the job. Some visits may also involve small extras like refreshing water or grabbing mail, depending on the client.

What's In It for You This is a limited, part-time role -- about 10 hours a month, paying $18-$22/hour based on experience. Best suited for someone who wants occasional, dependable weekend work alongside a weekday job, school, or other primary income - not someone looking to fill a full or even part-time schedule. Includes flexible scheduling within that footprint, holiday pay for visits worked on designated holidays, and a 401(k) with company matching. No PTO, but real earning potential for active, outdoor work with a supportive team - and a track record of promoting reliable walkers into Shift Lead and coordinator roles with more hours as the business grows.
