Job Summary
Responsible for managing all components of specialty nursing focused on patient care and experience which may include but is not limited to: contracting, credentialing, infusion care and oversight on diseased focused operations teams, scheduling, adjusting personnel to meet work volume needs and service levels, training, and employee coaching, and performance management. This position will also drive education initiatives for internal and external nurses and support maintenance and compliance with clinical policies and protocols with regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards of nursing practice.
Job Responsibilities
  • Coordinates department schedules to ensure appropriate workload and ratio balance.
  • Oversees all aspects of the assigned area within the Care Management and Infusion Nursing teams including member surveys/screenings, BioPharma program support, injection trainings, infusion pump programming/troubleshooting, supply lists, first refill reviews, and reorder processing, and electronic record management.
  • Assists in establishing and refining standard operating procedures to meet/exceed service levels; documents pharmacy processes including all updates.
  • Identifies, develops and implements potential solutions to resolve problems and/or remove barriers that inhibit the department's ability to achieve performance goals.
  • Provides oversight of the nursing network contracting and agency credentialing process, including maintaining cohesive partnership with existing agencies.
  • Maintains electronic databases to support contracting, nursing visit scheduling and billing and the provision of educational resources to internal team members and external subcontracted providers.
  • Supports maintenance of policies, procedures, clinical protocols and standards pertaining to nursing practice, and compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Supports clinical competencies and compliance with company policies and standards of clinical practice.
  • Ensures all agency field clinicians complete orientation on company policies, rules and regulations as well as required pharma and payer in-services and annual required in-services.
  • Develops new programs and training/in-service material based on organization need in concert with the patient management services team.
  • Analyzes clinical data and conduct audits for compliance and development purposes; participate in quality initiatives and feedback gathering.
  • Other responsibilities as judgment or necessity dictates.

External Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing
  • Current license/registration as an RN (Registered Nurse) with the State Board of Nursing in the state in which the position resides
  • 3 years' work experience in customer service, contract management, nursing, home infusion, specialty pharmacy and/or care management
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate in a diplomatic and confidential manner
  • Experience in using time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing of multiple projects with varying completion dates; ability to develop and deliver presentations to various audience levels
  • Organized and detail oriented with proven problem solving skills
  • Willing to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Active Nursing Licensing Compact multistate license
  • Active nursing license{s) in states not participating in Nursing Licensure Compact Experience in long-term care and/or chronic disease management
  • Certification in Infusion IV Nursing Services
