• Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of clients to develop individualized treatment plans tailored to their specific needs, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
• Provide both individual and group therapy sessions, employing a variety of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, and solution-focused short-term therapy.
• Maintain comprehensive, up-to-date clinical records, ensuring all documentation complies with legal and ethical standards.
• Collaboratively work with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate client care, integrating input from other healthcare professionals to enhance treatment effectiveness.
• Actively participate in ongoing professional development through workshops and training to stay informed about the latest advancements in mental health research and therapeutic practices.
• Engage in outreach and community engagement initiatives to promote awareness of mental health resources available at Walden, contributing to the organization’s positive reputation.

Our licensed counselors will work with a diverse patient population, including individuals, families, and couples facing various mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. We recognize the importance of personalized care, ensuring that each client receives tailored support that addresses their unique experiences and backgrounds. Counselors will have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with clients, fostering an environment conducive to healing and growth.

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field is required.
• Current and unrestricted licensure as a Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Virginia.
• Minimum of two years of clinical experience in counseling, demonstrating a solid foundation in therapeutic practices.
• Strong grasp of legal and ethical standards pertinent to mental health practice.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively establish rapport with clients and colleagues.
• Proficiency in utilizing health record documentation systems and EMR technologies.

• Experience focusing on specific issues such as family therapy, couples therapy, trauma-informed care, or substance use treatment is highly valued.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate successfully within a healthcare team will be a significant advantage.

Walden Diagnostic and Counseling Center offers a competitive salary range of $70,000 to $110,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to a generous base salary, the position includes a sign-on bonus and opportunities for performance-based bonuses, recognizing the efforts of our counselors in creating positive client outcomes.
