The Registered Dietitian at the 24 hour level of care provides clinical nutrition and meal plans under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Nutrition Services.
This position is for the Inpatient and Residetial Programs at Dedham Center for Recovery, including adult and adolescent coverage. This position requires flexibility to cover the Residential Program, as needed.
This is a Per Diem position for coverage as needed.
Pay: $31.73-$47.00/hour depening on education and experience

Responsibilities Include:
  • Complete comprehensive Nutrition Assessments for newly admitted patients within 48-hours of admission
  • Complete comprehensive Follow up Nutrition Assessments 2x/week
  • Prescribe appropriate meal plan to support identified nutrition goals in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Walden Behavioral Care
  • Work with patients and support persons to promote completion of meal plan
  • Perform individual and group nutritional therapy
  • Participate in treatment team planning, discharge planning and liaison services
  • Provide effective education to parents and families
  • Communicate progress and activities related to treatment and continuing care plans on an ongoing basis to the patient, family, treatment team, referral source and other individuals involved in the patient's care

Qualifications:
Education:
  • Minimum requirement Master's Degree

Experience:
  • Experience providing direct nutritional care in an Eating Disorder Program and/or Mental Health setting, preferred
  • Experience with menu planning and therapeutic diets in a healthcare setting, required

Licensure/Certification:
  • Registered Dietitian (RDN) with the Commission on Dietetic Registration from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND).
  • Licensed Dietitian with the state of Massachusetts (LDN)

Knowledge:
  • Medical nutrition therapy
  • Motivational interviewing
  • Nutrition care process
  • Nutrition counseling
  • Group education
  • Familiarity with therapeutic modalities including Family-Based Therapy (FBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Required competencies:
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize independently
  • Ability to multi-task in a changing and fast paced mental health environment
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborate, multidisciplinary team environment
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.

Supervision Received:
  • Monthly RD group supervision and individual supervision with the Director of Clinical Nutrition, Lead Dietitian and/or Senior Nutrition Consultant.
