What you will do and your role

We are seeking a talented and skilled Field Installation and Service Technician to install, service, survey, inspect and maintain inventory control and video equipment in retail environments.

How you will do it

  • Install, service, troubleshoot, repair, maintain and inspect retail products and equipment - including CCTV, access control systems, and Sensormatic products.

  • Manage your service calls and documentation via company systems (computer/mobile), including products serviced, work performed, hours, and parts utilized.

  • Maintain an accurate parts inventory at levels that ensure a first-time fix.

  • Demonstrate and train customers on proper use of installed equipment.

  • Communicate customer satisfaction feedback, potential sales opportunities, or recurring issues with your manager.

  • Conduct site surveys to support proposal generation.

  • Travel to customers locations as required. Occasional out of town travel, weekend and night work as required.

  • Interact with customers and internal employees in a professional manner.

  • Participate in ongoing training and maintain certifications.

  • Maintain company provided service vehicle as required.

  • Comply with all Sensormatic Canada Inc. policies and procedures.

  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

What we look for

Required

  • Associate degree in Electronicsand/or Networking,or technical equivalent required.

  • The candidate can be based anywhere within the GTA and surrounding areas, with a preference for those located near Toronto or Brampton.

  • Must have a valid driver's license

  • 2 years of prior work experience in a related field.

  • Basic training and certification in Video Management Systems (VMS).

  • Highly organized, strong interpersonal skills, and ability to work independently and in a team.

  • General electronics knowledge and mechanical aptitude to be able to use hand and power tools.

  • Provincial License, or willingness to obtain (as required).

  • Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.

  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.

  • Experience interpreting blueprints, technical documents, scope of work and meet deadlines.

  • Asset: Knowledge of building construction and inventory management/EAS technology.

  • Network troubleshooting experience and solid understanding of operating systems.

  • Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly.

  • Proficient with MS Office and basic computer skills.

  • Ability to travel and work overtime as needed.

  • Fluent English language required. Excellent written and verbal communication, demonstrated superior people and telephone skills, excellent organizational skills and the ability to work well under pressure are essential

Preferred

  • Certified in Video Platforms, EAS & RFID solutions commonly installed and serviced by Retail

  • Networking Fundamentals knowledge; network certification is a plus.

  • TRS - Networking 101

  • Experience servicing integrated solutions.

Pay Range: $27.05- $ 35.95 hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are providedthrough a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement.
