Job description

Join a dynamic vehicle testing team where you’ll help ensure software and hardware systems are ready, safe, and reliable for on-road operations. This onsite Test Technician, QA role in Foster City offers the chance to work across vehicle operations, data review, defect tracking, and mission support in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities
  • Support vehicle operations and help maintain vehicle readiness for testing activities
  • Perform basic software operation tasks and assist with mission preparation across multiple in-vehicle systems
  • Verify software and hardware configurations, launch software, deploy updates as needed, and capture requested data
  • Review test data and vehicle logs using internal tools to help trace issues and support root cause analysis
  • Document findings clearly and communicate observations, risks, and results to engineering teams
  • Identify, log, and track defects from discovery through resolution using issue management tools
  • Support testing, data collection, paperwork, and documentation related to vehicle readiness and operations
  • Work in a safety-focused environment while collaborating with teams across engineering, operations, and related functions
  • Adapt to operational needs that may include early mornings, evenings, overnight shifts, and weekends
Skills
  • At least 2 years of experience running complex testing or vehicle testing
  • Basic QA testing experience and a strong understanding of test execution and defect reporting
  • Experience using issue tracking or documentation tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or Azure DevOps
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive, resourceful approach with a strong sense of urgency and accountability
  • Ability to solve problems and stay effective in high-pressure situations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace tools
  • Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to safety and collaboration
Preferred Skills
  • Ability to code or script in Python or another high-level language
  • Experience with communication buses such as CAN or Ethernet
  • Familiarity with issue reporting workflows and defect management processes
  • Experience analyzing test data and vehicle logs for troubleshooting
