The Gas Station Cashier is the primary face of the business, responsible for delivering fast, friendly customer service while managing point-of-sale transactions. This role involves processing payments for fuel and convenience items, maintaining a clean and stocked storefront, and ensuring absolute compliance with legal regulations regarding age-restricted products.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Sales

  • Transaction Processing: Greet customers warmly and efficiently ring up purchases, including fuel, snacks, beverages, lotto tickets, and automotive products.
  • Payment Handling: Accurately process cash, credit/debit cards, EBT, and mobile payments; provide correct change and receipts.
  • Fuel Operations: Authorize and activate fuel pumps, manage prepayments, and clear pump errors or assist customers with fueling inquiries.

Store Upkeep & Inventory

  • Stocking & Merchandising: Restock shelves, coolers, and tobacco fixtures throughout the shift. Rotate inventory using the First-In, First-Out (FIFO) method to ensure freshness.
  • Daily Cleaning: Clean and sanitize counters, payment terminals, coffee stations, and restrooms. Ensure the outdoor fuel pump islands and trash bins are clean and clear of debris.
  • Receiving Deliveries: Assist in logging and unpacking vendor deliveries, checking for accurate quantities and undamaged products.

Compliance & Safety

  • Age Verification: Strictly verify identification for all age-restricted sales, including tobacco, vape products, lottery, and alcohol, ensuring full compliance with local and federal laws.
  • Financial Accuracy: Count and verify the cash drawer at the start and end of every shift; document and report any discrepancies or shortages.
  • Safety Protocols: Monitor the premises for unusual or suspicious behavior. Adhere to all safety guidelines regarding fuel emergencies and spill containment.
Requirements:
