Job description

Content Creator (Performance Marketing)

Aviron, a Y-Combinator company, transforms boring workouts into habit-building fitness entertainment through its innovative game-based cardio equipment, including rowing machines, bikes and treadmills. Y-Combinator, a startup incubator renowned for nurturing groundbreaking startups like Airbnb, Dropbox, and Instacart, has been instrumental in Aviron's journey, supporting rapid growth through two funding rounds totaling ~$35M.

Founded with the mission to End Boring Workouts, our unique approach combines the enjoyment of playing games with the benefits of exercise, crafting an experience that's fun, effective and even addictive.

We invite you to explore our Facebook community and witness the impact of Aviron firsthand.

Aviron is right for you if

  • You're looking for a role that prioritizes personal and professional growth
  • You're looking for a flat organization with friendly people that values merit (i.e. good work)
  • You're self-motivated and take pride in producing amazing work
  • You're not down with office politics
  • You want to own your work, start to finish
  • You are looking to make an impact and see how your work drives growth

Position Overview

We're looking for a creative powerhouse who understands how content converts and can build brand voice through volume, not just video polish. As our Content Creator, you'll own the end-to-end process from scripting and concept to shooting, editing, and delivering high-performing content that drives results. Reporting into the Marketing Manager, and collaborating closely with the Creative and performance teams, you'll craft thumb-stopping content for paid social, email, web, and organic channels, blending a sharp, recognizable brand POV with data-driven strategy. You're as comfortable writing a hook as you are shooting and cutting it - and you know the difference between content that looks good and content that actually converts. Fast-paced, hands-on, and impact-focused - this role is built for a creator who can turn ideas into conversion-driving content at volume.

This is a hybrid role. Although we don't mandate any in-office days, this role does require collaborating closely with the creative team, using our Toronto office as a studio to do shooting with the CEO/founder.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the planning, writing, shooting, and editing of high-volume, performance-focused content for paid social, email, web, and organic channels
  • Source and cast your own talent. Find the creators, models and real customers who fit the concept, brief them, book them, and handle day rates and usage rights.
  • Turn creative briefs into scripts, shot lists, and hook variations - write and test multiple hooks/angles per concept to find what stops the scroll
  • Ensure all content is optimized for performance and engagement across different channels (e.g. hook rate, hold rate, click-through rate, conversion rate, activation rate) and iterate based on data insights while keeping the Aviron customer and the Aviron brand, story and creative strategy, top of mind
  • Use your creative skills to keep the audience hooked. Iterate creative based on paid social results and team feedback
  • Own and evolve recurring content formats/series that build a recognizable Aviron voice and POV across channels - this is brand building through voice and community
  • Stay socially native: keep a pulse on what's trending and performing on TikTok, Instagram, and other platforms, and adapt it for Aviron
  • Mine our ad accounts, customer reviews, and Facebook community for content ideas, angles, and proof points
  • Work alongside the Creative, Growth, and Product Marketing teams to ensure all content aligns with Aviron's brand story and creative strategy
  • Employ platform-native editing technique captions, safe zones, aspect ratios per platform, and editing for sound-off viewing - plus core skills like colour correction, sound design, and basic motion graphics
  • Maintain a lean, reliable shooting and editing kit (camera, mic, edit system) built for speed and volume
  • Ship approximately 15-30 pieces of content per month across paid social, email, web, and organic (hooks, demos, UGC-style cuts, testimonials)
  • Bonus points: You're comfortable being in front of the camera yourself. Not a requirement, but it means you can shoot an idea the day you have it instead of waiting on someone
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years experience as a performance-focused content creator within DTC or e-commerce, with a track record of shipping ads/content that converts - come with examples and results, not just a reel
  • You have proven experience managing creators or talent before: briefs, bookings, day rates, usage rights
  • Proven scriptwriting ability - you can write hooks and hook variations from a creative brief
  • A portfolio that shows a recognizable voice, POV, or recurring format/series you've built and grownStrong social platform nativeness - you know what's working on TikTok, Instagram, and Meta right now, and why
  • Solid shooting and editing fundamentals - comfortable running your own shoots. You can run a shoot as a one-person crew - frame it, light it, get clean audio - and direct people who aren't actors
  • Proficiency in video editing software like CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, or similar tools, with platform-native editing skills (captions, safe zones, aspect ratios, sound-off editing)
  • A creative mindset with a sharp eye for detail, brand style, and POV
  • Comfortable with volume - think 15-30 pieces of content a monthAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, autonomous, and collaborative environment
Employment Type: FULL_TIME
