Description
Position Summary
We are seeking a Project Manager to join our team. In this role, you will lead high-level misc. steel construction projects from planning to completion, ensuring they meet scope, budget, and timeline goals. This role requires a high level of coordination across teams internally and externally, with a focus on monitoring progress and identifying and addressing risks to keep projects on track.
Key Responsibilities
• Full responsibility for strength in performance on contracted misc. steel projects encompassing financial, program, quality, safety and client relationship aspects.
• Prepare, negotiate, and authorize change order requests beyond original scope.
• Accountable for risk identification and mitigation.
• Leadership and coordination with affiliated resources (procurement, detailing, engineering, production, shipping and field crews, sub-trade and vendor management).
• Transparent reporting to executive management, client and other authorities of jurisdiction.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
• Minimum of 2 years of misc. steel construction related project management involvement (set-up, budget assignment, schedule development, drawings oversight, project controls, costs and milestones, financial flows, risk assessment and mitigation, contract compliance, in-house staff direction, field direction, sub-trade and vendor management.)
• Skillful in clear and effective communication between general contractors, numerous departments, vendors, sub-trades, in-house management and shop or field crafts.
• Sound understanding of steel industry environment relative to structural and misc. design, detailing, model and drawing data exchange, specification compliance, schedule discipline, change management, billings and reporting.
• This position requires travel to and from various work sites across multiple states. Candidates must be willing and able to travel with short notice as required by project schedules.
Preferred:
• Experience leading large-scale misc. steel construction projects without needing oversight
• Experience managing and mentoring project management staff
