Job description

Position Description: The Access Control Officer is responsible for ensuring secure and efficient entry to TRC’s facilities by verifying authorization for employees, visitors, customers, and contractors at the main gatehouse. The role supports site safety, customer service, and compliance with TRC security policies. This position operates on a 4 on 4 off schedule.Essential Functions*• Verify and document access authorization for all incoming personnel and vehicles
• Maintain accurate visitor logs and issue badges when required
• Provide mail distribution services at the gatehouse
• Enforce TRC security and access policies
• Monitor entry points and report unusual activity or safety concerns

Other Duties and Responsibilities (Non-Essential Functions)• Greet visitors and direct them to appropriate locations
• Conduct routine patrols of buildings, grounds, and facilities
• Provide security coverage for special events
• Assist with periodic safety and security surveys
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
• Support TRC’s Quality and Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) programs
Qualifications• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic computer proficiency
• Valid driver’s license (state DMV or foreign equivalent)
• No criminal record
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Legible handwriting and accurate recordkeeping
• Ability to successfully complete all required internal job and safety training
Working Conditions• Exposure to temperatures below 0°F and above 95°F
• Exposure to inclement weather
• May be required to work alone for extended periods, including nights and weekends
Physical Requirements• Ability to lift or move objects up to 25 pounds
• Ability to bend, stretch, climb, and perform duties requiring physical flexibility
• Ability to use a computer, communication devices, and other office equipment
• Ability to stay alert and attentive for 6–10 hours
• Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle on and off TRC property
