JOB TITLE: Tower Technician
STATUS: Full-Time, Non-Exempt Employee
REPORTS TO: Director of Wireless/Tower
DIRECT REPORTS: None
RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE: 1+ years preferred in Wireless/Tower industry.


JOB SUMMARY: The Tower Technician – Wireless Division is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of wireless communication equipment and infrastructure. This role involves climbing communication towers up to 1000 feet, ensuring high standards of safety, and supporting the development of wireless infrastructure that powers communities. JDH Contracting is recruiting Tower Technicians of all experience levels, offering meaningful work with a team-first culture and strong work-life balance.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Climb towers daily to perform installation and maintenance tasks up to 1000 feet.
  • Install antennas, mounts, cable ladders, transmission lines, and related equipment.
  • Assist with site testing, troubleshooting systems such as cell sites and lighting systems.
  • Participate in new tower builds and modifications to existing structures.
  • Perform routine inspections and specialized tower maintenance.
  • Mentor and assist less experienced team members to build team capability.
  • Uphold safety protocols and quality workmanship that exceeds industry standards.
  • Communicate effectively with crew members, site leads, and clients.
  • Travel to job sites and work extended hours or weekends as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 1 year of tower climbing or related telecom industry experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a DOT physical exam required.
  • CDL Class A license is a plus.
  • ComTrain or other industry safety and climbing certifications are preferred.
