Job description

Job Title: School Safety Liaison (Part-time)

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 
  • Must be at least 18 years of age. 

 
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in various weather conditions. 

 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 

 
  • Reliability and punctuality are essential. 

 
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful or high-traffic situations. 

 
  • Prior experience in a similar role (such as crossing guard, security, or traffic control) is a plus but not required. 

 

REPORTS TO: Assigned Principal

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

Cambridge Lakes Charter School is seeking a reliable and safety-conscious individual to join our team as a School Safety Liaison. This part-time position plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety of students, staff, and families during school dismissal by serving as a traffic director and/or crossing guard. The position is ideal for individuals who are dedicated to school safety and enjoy working outdoors. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 
  • Direct traffic to ensure a smooth and safe flow of vehicles during student dismissal. 

  • Assist students and families in safely crossing streets and navigating school grounds. 

  • Follow and enforce school traffic safety policies and procedures. 

  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to maintain a safe environment. 

  • Report any safety concerns, traffic violations, or incidents to school administration. 

  • Remain vigilant and attentive to ensure student and pedestrian safety at all times. 

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

 
  • Requires standing for extended periods of time

  • Exposure to various weather conditions

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

 
  • Position Type: Part-Time 

  • Hours: 2:30 PM - 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday 

  • Rate of Pay: $16.00 per hour 

  • Schedule: Excludes weekends, school holidays, and summer vacation
