We are currently seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Service Advisor to join our dynamic team.
 
Position Overview:
As a Service Advisor at Toyota of Downtown Chicago, you will be the primary point of contact for our valued customers needing vehicle maintenance and repair services. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that our customers have a seamless and satisfying service experience by effectively communicating their needs to our technicians and ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standard.
 
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Interaction:
Greet customers promptly and courteously upon their arrival at the service department.
Listen to customers' descriptions of vehicle issues and determine the necessary service and repairs.
Provide clear and accurate explanations of the services needed and answer any customer questions.
Service Coordination:
Prepare detailed work orders that outline the customer’s vehicle issues, the necessary repairs, and any requested maintenance.
Communicate effectively with technicians to ensure all repairs are performed as requested and on time.
Keep customers informed of the status of their vehicles throughout the service process, including any changes in time estimates or costs.
Sales & Upselling:
Recommend additional services that may benefit the customer, based on vehicle inspection results.
Prepare and present cost estimates for the recommended services and repairs.
Customer Satisfaction:
Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by providing exceptional service and maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.
Resolve any customer complaints or concerns quickly and effectively.
Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of all service and repair transactions, including customer information, vehicle details, and services performed.
Ensure all necessary documentation is completed for warranty and insurance claims.
 
Qualifications:
Experience:
Prior experience as a Service Advisor or in a similar customer-facing role in the automotive industry is highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance services.
Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical information to non-technical customers.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent is required; additional technical or customer service training is a plus.
 
Other Requirements:
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Ability to work flexible hours, including some weekends.
