Overview

The Box Office Assistant Manager supports the overall operations of the box office and ensures efficient, customer-focused service in all aspects of ticket sales and guest experience. This role assists in supervising box office staff, managing ticketing systems, handling escalated customer concerns, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

This role will pay an hourly rate of $35.00.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Box Office Manager in the daily operations of the box office, including opening and closing procedures.
  • Supervise and support box office staff, providing training, direction, and ongoing performance feedback.
  • Oversee ticket sales, exchanges, refunds, and will-call distribution using the ticketing system Ticketmaster. 
  • Ensure excellent customer service is delivered to patrons both in person and over the phone/email.
  • Troubleshoot ticketing or access issues and handle escalated customer service concerns.
  • Monitor ticket inventory, pricing, and seating charts; communicate with other departments on updates and event changes.
  • Assist with preparing and reconciling daily sales reports and financial records.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all events, policies, and promotions.
  • Help create and enforce box office policies and procedures.
  • Step in to act as Box Office Manager in their absence.
  • Assist management with scheduling and supervision of box office staff.
  • General administrative duties such as providing support to all ticket representatives, organizing orders, and general office needs.
  • Support at events on the night of the show as needed.
  • Other duties assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • 2-3 years of related work experience. Experience in a box office/entertainment venue is not required, but it is a plus.
  • Ability to engage in positive interaction with employees and industry contacts, organize, and problem-solve while prioritizing time management and multitasking in a high-pressure environment.
  • Competitive, self-motivated, and creative-thinking skills and a team-first attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills, including email etiquette.
  • High level of demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and ability to maintain sensitive information.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.) and Google Docs.
  • Familiarity with Ticketmaster or any other ticketing platforms is not required, but it is a plus.
