MRI TECHNOLOGIST
Aspirus Wausau Hospital, Wausau, WI
Full Time (1.0 FTE, 80 hours every pay period)
10-hour varied shifts, Monday - Friday with call weekend rotation (occasional need)

Job Description:
Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, performs quality diagnostic MRI scans. The MRI Technologist will have an above average knowledge of MRI equipment. Will comply with performance measures and/or activities to assure patient/customer satisfaction results, clinical quality benchmarks, and operational financial targets are constantly maintained. Will comply with and participate in maintaining an environment which supports our philosophy and values.
Experience/Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of radiology standards and procedures as they relate to MRI normally acquired through graduation of an approved radiology school, an associate's degree in Radiology, or sufficient on the job training to meet ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification requirements.
  • One year of clinical experience in diagnostic imaging is beneficial to enhance and develop skills.
  • Previous experience in MRI Technology and cross-sectional anatomy beneficial.
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiography, ARRT(R); or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS); or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
  • Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire - All clinical personnel in identified job codes are required to maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) training through independent study, online manikin and knowledge testing. An acceptable training program is the Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider course from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross Professional Rescuer Program with AED. (See Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Training Policy).
  • Interpersonal skills sufficient to interact effectively with patients, physicians, and co-workers who may be under physical and/or emotional stress.
  • Analytical skills to acquire and effectively utilize knowledge of MR techniques and methods.
  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy in order to obtain quality images.
  • Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for approximately 75% of work time when operating equipment, manipulating, reproducing images and dealing with patient records, as well as the ability to work effectively under stressful conditions and during irregular hours.
  • Site specific competencies in protocols, equipment, computer systems and applications.
