Job description

Technical Manual Developer
Purpose:
  • Valkyrie Enterprises is looking for a Technical Manual Developer in Virginia Beach, VA.
  • This position is to provide Technical Writing support for Technical Manual upgrade initiatives.

Job Description:
  • Develop, review, and maintain technical manuals, electronic technical manuals (ETMS) and interactive electronic technical manuals (IETMs) for technical adequacy and accuracy.
  • Developing and updating IETMS using S1000D Format.
  • Participate in Technical Manual Validation/Verification processes.

Qualifications
  • Must have at least 5 years of experience and an Associates Degree.
  • Must have experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (I.e., Project and Excel).
  • Must have experience S1000D International Specifications for updating and/or developing IETMs.
  • Must have experience with XML tagging guidelines, Arbortext Epic Editor Software.
  • Must have experience with Interleaf Software Version 7/Quicksilver for updating TMs/ETMs.

Desired Requirements
  • Experience in Technical Writing for Naval Systems, preferred.
  • Knowledgeable experience with Windchill Model Based Product Support (MBPS) environment, preferred.

Security Requirements:
  • Must have an Active Secret Security clearance, and the ability to maintain clearance.
  • Must maintain clearance eligibility to access military facilities, naval shipyards, and private shipyards.

Travel Requirements:
  • Less than 10%
  • If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to work in an office, industrial, or shipboard environment.
  • Be able to lift and move materials not to exceed the guidelines set for one-man lift.
  • Must be able to perform site surveys and carry a laptop computer.
