Job description

We are seeking a strategic and experienced Technology Product Owner to lead the vision, strategy, and execution for our portfolio of internal risk management platforms within the Retail and Wealth Risk Management sector to drive incorporation of Agentic AI into the systems, driving efficiency and quality improvement. This hands-on leadership role is pivotal in driving the adoption of emerging technologies to enhance risk oversight, streamline operations, and ensure regulatory compliance, particularly in Stress Testing space. You will own the product definition and quality from concept to delivery, fostering a culture of shared understanding and accountability across business and technology teams.
Key Responsibilities
  • Product Strategy & Vision: Define and communicate a clear product vision and long-term (3-5 year) strategy for our internal risk technology portfolio, ensuring alignment with business objectives, market trends, and the competitive landscape.
  • Regulatory Forecasting Oversight: Direct the product strategy and development for technology solutions that manage and execute regulatory and internal loss forecasting processes, including CCAR (Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review) and CECL (Current Expected Credit Losses) for consumer loan portfolios.
  • Stakeholder Partnership: Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, technology teams, and executive leadership to ensure alignment on product goals, drive investment decisions, and manage expectations.
  • End-to-End Product Ownership: Drive the entire product lifecycle, from discovery to delivery. Champion a collaborative requirements process that ensures a shared understanding between business and technology. Author clear, concise, and testable user stories and acceptance criteria to prevent ambiguity and empower development teams. Actively demo the applications to users.
  • Application Resiliency: Drive the architectural and operational enhancements required to ensure high resiliency and availability of the risk management platforms, meeting stringent business and regulatory uptime requirements.
  • Quality & Testing Advocacy: Champion a "shift-left" approach to quality by integrating testing as a continuous activity throughout the development lifecycle. Partner with business and development teams to define comprehensive testing strategies and take ultimate ownership of quality to ensure the final product is fit for purpose and meets the highest quality standards.
  • Innovation and Emerging Technology: Champion and leverage the exploration and adoption of emerging technologies (e.g., AI/ML, advanced analytics) to create next-generation risk management capabilities. Foster a culture of "test and learn" experimentation to solve core business challenges.
  • Risk & Compliance Oversight: Ensure all products rigorously adhere to the firm's risk management frameworks, regulatory requirements, and internal policies. Apply sound ethical judgment and drive a transparent approach to escalating and managing control issues.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of product professionals. Manage team resources, planning, and performance to build a culture of excellence and accountability.

Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in technology product ownership or a related strategic role, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality technology products in a dynamic environment.
  • Significant experience with internal, enterprise-level applications, preferably within the financial services industry.
  • Deep understanding of risk management principles and practices, particularly within retail banking or wealth management.
  • Demonstrable experience with technology products supporting consumer loan portfolio management and regulatory reporting processes such as CCAR and CECL.
  • Demonstrated success in identifying and applying emerging technologies to solve complex business problems.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to manage senior stakeholder relationships and develop product talent.
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience using data to inform decisions, define clear acceptance criteria, and measure product success against testable outcomes.
  • Experience with modern agile development practices, including Product Development Life Cycle (PDLC) and Agile, is highly desirable.

Education
  • Bachelor's/University degree required or equivalent work experience
