Job description

Lander~Grinspoon Academy, a pluralistic K-6 Jewish Day school in Northampton, MA, is hiring a dynamic and creative part-time Hebrew/Judaics teacher. This is a great opportunity for a current graduate student, someone interested in exploring school-based teaching, or a recently retired teacher who isn't quite ready to leave it all behind!
What you will do
You will teach two Hebrew/Judaics classes every day. There is some flexibility based on skill level and interest as to which classes those would be. In addition, you will:
  • Partner with families in regular communication
  • Nurture a joyful sense of Jewish identity within each student
  • Teach about Jewish holidays at appropriate times of year
  • Commit to implementing our social/emotional curriculum as well as our strong academic program

Qualifications
Our ideal candidate is enthusiastic about contributing to school-wide initiatives including social justice, our on-site working farm, and creative arts. In addition, you
  • Speak Hebrew fluently
  • Hold a Bachelor's degree
  • Have strong Judaic content knowledge
  • Have experience teaching elementary grade students
  • Work well as part of a team

Compensation
  • Salary: $18,000-26,000 commensurate with experience and education
