What is a Weekend Tactical?

A Weekend Tactical typically refers to a security or operations professional responsible for overseeing and managing tactical responses during weekend shifts. This role often involves monitoring security systems, coordinating with response teams, and handling incidents that arise outside of standard business hours. Weekend Tacticals are essential for ensuring continuous safety and operational efficiency when regular staff may not be present. Their duties may vary depending on the industry, but the focus is always on readiness, quick decision-making, and maintaining security protocols during weekends.

What are the typical responsibilities and challenges for someone working in a Weekend Tactical role?

In a Weekend Tactical role, you are often responsible for overseeing and coordinating operational activities during weekend shifts, which may include managing incident response, monitoring critical systems, and ensuring smooth transitions between weekday and weekend teams. A key challenge in this position is handling unexpected issues with limited on-site resources, as many support teams may have reduced staffing during weekends. Collaboration with both on-call personnel and remote teams is common, and effective communication is essential for swift problem-solving. This role is well-suited for individuals who excel in high-pressure environments and are comfortable making decisions independently.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Weekend Tactical, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Weekend Tactical (often referring to a tactical operations or security role), you need strong situational awareness, decision-making abilities, and relevant safety or security certifications. Familiarity with surveillance tools, communication devices, and incident reporting systems is typically required. Exceptional teamwork, stress management, and clear communication skills help individuals stand out in this position. These competencies are vital to ensure quick, effective responses to incidents and maintain a secure environment during weekend shifts.

Job description

Who We Are

MXR - The Imaging Solutions Company (MXR) is one of the largest independent providers of diagnostic imaging equipment sales, service, training, parts and supplies in the nation. MXR is a full-service medical imaging company, offering an array of services that rival OEM service programs. The MXR product portfolio is diverse in options of new, used and reconditioned equipment for CT, MR, ultrasound, DR, CR, x-ray and ultrasound probes. The assortment of consumable and durable goods spans multiple product categories including film, radiation protection, contrast and contrast-delivery systems, patient positioning and transport, markers, quality assurance, phantoms, and much more.

Role Overview

As a Radiology Technologist - Account Manager (Diagnostic Imaging Equipment/Service/Parts/Supplies), you will manage and expand an assigned territory by strengthening existing relationships and delivering responsive, solutions-based support across imaging equipment, service contracts, parts, probes, and supplies. This role is fully remote (Boston, MA) with ~50–60% travel and a Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM schedule, with occasional evenings/weekends.
Key responsibilities include maintaining the current customer base; identifying upsell/cross-sell opportunities; leading post-sale support and issue resolution; acting as the customer voice internally; selling new X-ray service contracts and supporting renewals; growing medical supplies sales; selling ultrasound equipment/parts/probes; coordinating with service, manufacturers, and sales leaders; preparing weekly activity/market reports; and maintaining accurate CRM records.
Required qualifications:
- Certified Radiologic Technologist (R.T., CT, or MR)
- 3–5 years of sales and/or radiology equipment technical experience
- Knowledge of B2B imaging solutions and service contracts; executive-level communication
- Proficiency with MS Office and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce)
Apply if you’re ready to combine clinical credibility with consultative account management.

How Your Days Flow

Your day typically starts by reviewing CRM notes, open requests, and renewal timelines, then prioritizing outreach to accounts across your territory. Between virtual meetings and on-site visits, you’ll align stakeholders on next steps, confirm timelines, and document progress so internal teams can execute smoothly. Travel days are planned in blocks to maximize face time with key departments, while non-travel days focus on follow-ups, pricing/quote review, and keeping weekly activity and market updates current. You’ll regularly shift between tactical details (status checks, documentation, coordination) and higher-level conversations with department leaders and executives—keeping communication clear, accurate, and timely.

Benefits Package

MXR Imaging, Inc. offers a Competitive Salary ($65,000/year) and a benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage; 401(k); Life Insurance; a Flexible Spending Account (FSA); and Paid Time Off.
