Cooper Tacia is currently looking for a systems engineer. This role acts as a technical expert, advisor, and project manager, requiring a blend of technical expertise, strategic planning, and leadership skills. Responsibilities include assessing and optimizing IT infrastructure, developing disaster recovery plans, and serving as a consultant on projects involving IT infrastructure, with an emphasis on innovation and efficiency to support the organization's goals.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Plan, execute, and manage system and network upgrades to minimize downtime and ensure continuity of operations.
  • Architect and implement advanced system solutions to meet organizational objectives, including cloud integration, network design, and application deployment.
  • Lead the evaluation and integration of new technologies to enhance system efficiency and performance.
  • Design and maintain robust security protocols and measures to protect system integrity and data privacy.
  • Conduct system and network audits to identify vulnerabilities and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
  • Develop and oversee comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure data availability and system functionality in emergency scenarios.
  • Serve as a technical project manager for major IT initiatives, coordinating cross-functional teams to achieve project milestones and deliverables.
  • Plan and conduct regular information security training sessions for employees, emphasizing best practices, awareness of security threats, and the importance of compliance with organizational security policies.
  • Collaborate with leadership to formulate strategic technology plans that align with business goals and objectives, including budgeting and resource allocation for IT projects.
  • Serve as the primary go-to for IT concerns / issues / help desk across all companies.
  • Onboarding / offboarding of employees.
  • Manage permissions as well as email accounts.
  • Serve as administrator of SharePoint access, folders, backup, etc.
  • Manage purchasing of new equipment, computers, software licensees, etc.
  • Manage project field internet access, camera systems, etc.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required.
  • At least five years of system administration and hands on experience with Windows Operating Systems (server and client)
  • Deep understanding of operating systems, network configurations, and system interactions to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Expertise in managing and optimizing virtualized environments
  • Comprehensive knowledge of security protocols, firewall management, and intrusion detection systems to safeguard the organization's data and IT assets.
  • Ability to lead complex IT projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and timelines.
  • Excellent communication skills for translating technical information to non-technical stakeholders
