Job description

Sweeper Driver / Operator

Operate multiple types of sweeping equipment in an industrial / construction setting. This will include but not limited to road construction sweeping, both prevailing and non-prevailing rate work. Industrial plant sweeping, construction drag out and environmental sweeping for stormwater regulation requirements. This may include both vacuum and mechanical broom truck mounted sweepers as well as towing equipment to job sites.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work 8-10-hour Night Shift and Day Shift operating sweeping equipment. Some overtime hours are required.
  • Master safe, effective operation of multiple types of sweeping equipment
  • Conduct pre-check of the vehicle and equipment
  • Conduct post-work cleanup of vehicle and equipment
  • Document work, time, fuel and matters important to the specific job site
  • Maintain professional representation of the Company in all interactions with customers andthrough responsible driving.
  • Abide by all Company safety policies and state and federal transportation
  • Come to work as schedule, on time and fit for duty
  • Other duties as may be assigned
Qualifications
  • Experience in construction or industrial plant environment.
  • Familiar with industrial safety requirements and procedures.
  • Experience hauling and backing up trailers.
  • Experience working off shifts and weekends if necessary.
  • You must be mechanically inclined.
  • Must be at least 21 years of
  • Must be able to pass initial pre-employment and random drug screens
  • Able to work outside in all types of Western Pennsylvania weather

Education and Experience
  • High school education or equivalent
  • CDL NOT Required but is a plus
  • Current DOT Medical card will be required
  • On the job training provided
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to operate an automatic transmission truck for 8-10hrs per shift
  • Ability to sit for several hours at a time throughout the work shift
  • Ability to do moderate walking, and occasional bending, and kneeling.
  • Ability to maneuver in and out of the vehicle throughout the shift
  • Ability to carry out oral and written instructions
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs. many times throughout the shift
  • Ability to carry and operate either handheld or backpack leaf blowers
