Job description

Surgical Technologist (Contract)

Location: St. Helen, Ca
Variable Shift, 4 x 10s, no specific off days. Start times 6:30am or 8:30am. Call one night per week and one weekend per month. 2 years of experience with Ortho, GYN, Spine, Plastics, ENT, and General.


Position Summary & Responsibilities
  • Assist surgical team in preparing operating rooms for procedures

  • Establish and maintain a sterile field using proper aseptic techniques

  • Prepare and organize surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment prior to cases

  • Pass instruments, supplies, and medications to surgeons during procedures

  • Assist with retraction and intraoperative support as needed

  • Perform instrument, sponge, needle, and blade counts with RN per protocol

  • Monitor, clean, and maintain surgical equipment and supplies

  • Transport patients and assist with clerical and support duties as assigned

  • Ensure adherence to safety, infection control, and hospital standards


Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)

  • Preferred Six months of OR experience or completed Scrub Tech course:

  • Required Licenses/Certifications: Surgery Technician certification: Preferred Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support
